Vault Explorer 2009 could not find the Data Management Services on volt

Hi All

Last night I upgraded from ADMS 2008 to ADMS 2009, it seem to work but now the clients get this error:

Vault Explorer 2009 could not find the Data Management Services on volt

I read more than a few posts here, and I found that if I restarted the WolrdWide Publishing Service, the AutoDeskDM website would become available again and I would be able to access:

http://localhost/AutodeskDM/Services/SecurityService.asmx and
http://localhost/AutodeskDM/Services/JobService.asmx

However, after a few minutes it would become unavailable once again... No error on the browser it would simply hang on the requested page.

So I check the iis server logs and found that the DefaultApplication Pool was abandoning connections, so I installed and ran the Debug Diagnostics Tool and found the following below. The problem seem to be the DWFFilter but I don't know how to fix it, any ideas.

Detected a serious critical section related problem in w3wp.exe__DefaultAppPool__PID__3476__Date__10_23_2008__Time_11_46_21AM__988__IIS
Hang Dump.dmp

Lock at DWFFilter!DllGetClassObject+22d19c owned by thread 28 is Deadlocked with lock at ntdll!LdrpLoaderLock owned by thread 30

Impact analysis

2.78% of threads blocked

(Threads 30)

The following functions are involved in the root cause

DWFFilter!DllGetClassObject+2a56

It sounds like you need this hotfix.

If this not the issue could you please post the
Server vlog file.

Thanks,

Hi Dain

I tried the patch, it imporved a little but after it few minutes the same thing happend. I ran the Server Diagnostics tool, and the result is Login failed for user sa.

I changed logon information for the SQL Service and no matter what user I used it gives the same error,

Login failed for user "sa"

Any ideas?

Thanks

Juan

If you could post the vlog from the server it might
help determine the problem.  I would unregister the DWF ifilter
(DWFFilter.dll)  and restart to see if that elimates the problem.

Hi Dain.

Unregistering the DLL did the trick. Thanks a million ....

Best Regards.
