Vault Client stays blank for 2-5 sec after coming out of Minimized

Hi Guys,

Not a huge problem but would be nice to know if there is a way to fix this.

When ever any one has vault minimized in windows explorer and they go to restore it. The Vault Client GUI stay blank for a 2-5 seconds.

There is only 1 user out of 20 that doesn't get this problem. I also notied it happenes with 2014 aswell. They are all using Windows 7 64bit and nivida videocards.

  • Does it happen right away (i.e. login, minimize, restore, and it reproduces) or is it after doing certain workflows?
  • Any chance you could record a video showing how it reproduces so that we could see if we notice anything peculiar?

Thanks,

- Matt

It happens right after login. It doesn't seem to matter at what point in time or where we are in vault. It just always does it.

Here is a link to a video

I didn't notice at first that this was Vault 2013.  I was also able to reproduce this with Vault 2013.  It is interesting that it doesn't happen on one users machine. Do they happen to have a different version of Windows than others?

I know of no way to speed this up.

FYI, it is faster for me in Vault 2014 and Vault 2015.

I checked out the one user that doesn't have this problem and it looks like they are now having the same issues. 😞

It looks like they are using Windows "animate windows" features. Try disabling that:

Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Performance Information and Tools

Adjust Visual Effects

Visual Effects tab: choose "Adjust for best performance"

I changed this setting and it doesn't seem to make any differences.

The user that didn't have this problem before said it started to act like everyone else's once I upgrade the amount of memory they had from 4gb to 8 gb.

I don't think this is the reason why the client started acting like everyone elses so i am a bit lost on this one.
