vault basic not running

I have just installed inventor 2015 and vault basic along with the vault server.

When I try to open vault it authenicates the server and then hangs there and does not progress any further. As anyone got any suggestions?

Also how do I add the vault icon to the menu bar in inventor?

Does it not return an error after leaving it for a while? Usually a little red ! symbol appears which you can mouse over for a detailed description.

If it's just hanging indefinately, like longer than ~5 minutes, that sounds to me like anti-virus or firewall blocking the connectivity.  If you can, try temporarily disabling all anti-virus and firewalls just to see if that's the cause, and then re-enable them straight away of course.
