I'm trying to create an object where the file can have an assignment to be reviewed by me assigning it to individuals (memebers) in Vault. I do not want to use the item control nor do I want to use the ECN approach. I thought I could create a new object where a file can be assigned tasks for specific memebers to review and approve the file.
Any suggestions would be very appreciated.
Are you using Vault Professional? If so you can use Custom Objects to create a task object. You can link files to it, and assign it to an individual, even assign a due date... what it will not do is send any kind of notification or reminders. Users will have to remember to check thier assigned task lists to see if anything has been added.
