Vault 2015 & SQL 2014?

Anyone try installation with this combination?

SQL 2014 STD is not on the compatibilty list of db for Vault 2015 (yet).

Vendor no longer carries the previous versions of SQL (ie 2012).

It seems that Microsoft still wants to sell MS SQL 2012.

See:

http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/pdp/SQL-Server-Standard-Edition-2012/productID.28118...

It looks like end-of-mainstream support for SQL 2012 will be in 2017.

Early on for Vault 2016, it was noted SQL 2014 was supported iff the databases were in 2012 mode.

Could this be used for Vault 2015 as well? Say we updated the DB to SQL 2104 and set the compatibility mode to 2012. Has this been tested?

Hi Doug,

There has been no testing with Vault 2015 using SQL 2014. So this would not be a supported scenario.

Thanks,

Paul

When you buy your software you should get a login for Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC).

From what I understand if you get SQL 2014 then you can download three versions back from VLSC. (2008, 2012 and 2014)

Any legitimate Microsoft software rep should beable to help you with this.

This path also gets you SQL 2014 for when you do want to upgrade to Vault 2016.

Cheers!
