The majority of our company works (and will continue to works with) AutoCAD (Mechanical) but some of the workforce will most likely be switching from a failed use of Inventor to Solidworks (basically a matter about complex surface modelling, the use of 1 AutoCAD generated sketch for the entire model and offset capabilities... stuff Inventor can't and SW can).
Can Vault work with Solidworks and if so... how easily can it?
Solidworks resellers claim they can easily support AutoCAD with their PDM, but since the (vast) majority of the users will actually be on AutoCAD it would seem to make more sense to go with Vault and support SW with that. And with support I mean: like AutoCAD is supported... I realize you can basically stck any filetype in Vault, but will they retain their links and such? (like those between an assembly and a part).
