Vault 2012 opening screen

Is there any way to turn off the initial "Welcome to the Autodesk Vault 2012 Family of Products" screen that displays when Vault is opened? Would prefer it just go right to vault root, as it used to.

Thanks.

what annoys me more, is upon launching Vault 2012 Pro, the instance isn't the active window, and will even open behind other programs! proper annoying! Especially if you need to type a password. The cursor blinks, you type and nothing happens.

There isn't a way to turn this off, however if you select Project Explorer in the left pane and close Vault and restart it.  It will reopen in Project Explorer.

What is "Project Explorer" in left pane?  I have "Vault Explorer", but not Project Explorer.

Project Explorer is an option in the higher versions of Vault.

No not really, but if you have the higher versions of Vault it does remember where you left it when you closed it down. i.e: Project explorer, Item Master, ECO's etc..

OK, thanks.

I meant to ask you about both threads.  The annoyance of not being focused in the Login Box when Vault loads, and the startup screen.  I have to type a password and it's a pain to have to click in the window first to do it.  2011 didn't do that. I wonder if 2013 does . . .

Well, that's good to hear!  We just switched from 2011 to 2012 a couple of weeks ago, so it'll be a long time before we will see the change . . .  (The Powers That Be here don't realize that we are actually one year behind in releases.)  Autodesk should not name them by the year, it's confusing.  They think we have just upgraded to the latest version.

I have been searching for a solution to this opening screen problem as well. It's a waste of time and an annoyance to see the "Welcome to the Autodesk Vault 2012 Family of Products" page every single time I open Vault. Is there any way to customize Vault to get to open in with the Vault Explorer folder selected?

We are currently using:

Autodesk Vault

Copyright 2011, Autodesk, Inc.

Build 16.0.56.200

And it could be quite a while before we upgrade again, so we really need to find a solution to this problem soon.

Thanks!

Dave

Dave,

Open the Vault client.

Click the Project Explore tab in the lower left corner.

PE.png

Close Vault client.

Reopen Vault client and it should open to the Vault Explorer $ folder.

Thanks Irvin, but that must be a different version from what we are using (2012), because I don't see anything resembling the image in your post.

I am sorry, you must be using Vault Basic which doesn't have this.  Sorry but there isn't a way to open to the root folder in that edition.

Irvin, I tried this method in Vault Collaboration 2013, and it doesn't work.

Do you know of a way to get that result with what I use? Thanks
