Vault 2010 starts Autocad 2009

Hi All,
I have installed on my PC all the new release 2010 (Vault, AutoCAD 2010,
Inventor 2010).
I have this tsituation:
If I open a dwg file from Vault Explorer instead of Autocad 2010 will be
opened Autocad 2009 (even if I have already AutoCAD 2010 open)

Is it possible to set which release has to be opened ??

thanks
Alberto

Does double-clicking on a dwg file in Windows Explorer open AutoCAD 2009
or 2010? It maybe a file extension association in Windows that is
causing this problem.

2010.

thanks

Hi Maffi Pneumax,

If you install ACAD 2009 and ACAD 2010 in the same machine, and then try to
open a *.dwg file, the system will always use the higher ACAD edition to
open the file, no matter the file is in Vault or not.

Meanwhile, I did a few testing based on your discription. and My workflow
are listed below:
1. Install ACAD 2009
2. Install ACAD 2010
3. Install Vault Manufacturing 2010
4. Open ACAD 2009, create a DWG file and then check into Vault.
5. Switch to Vault client, and open the DWG file -->(Result: The file will
be open with ACAD 2010)
6. Double- click the dwg file again in Vault client --> (Result: We will not
open another ACAD application, but just use the ACAD 2010 we launched in
previous step)

So my questions are: Is this the workflow same as yours please? Or did you
make some other configrations please?

Regards,
Frank

Hi Frank,
my configuration is:
I have installed Inventor suite 2009, recently I have installed Inventor
Professional Suite 2010.
Even if I start Autocad 2010 and close it (just to register Windows that
should use the new release) if I open the file from the Vault it still open
Autocad 2009.
Even if I open Autocad 2010 and keep it open, if I open a file from Vault
Explorer it opens Autocad 2009.

thanks
A. Maffi
