Upgrading from MSDE to Full SQL Server

Hi,

"Best Practices for Implementing Autodesk Vault" says that "You can upgrade MSDE to full SQL Server at any time."

Does it mean that it is just a matter of licensing? Or, will I have to perform some tedious job like baking up all data, installing full SQL Server, migrating data to new installation, testing database, etc??

Pl guide!

You simply upgrade the instance with one of the supported versions of SQL - see the README for the particular version of vault to see which versions are supported.

Of course I highly recommend doing a backup with the ADMS Console prior to doing any kind of upgrade, but the upgrade process generally will not involve restored the backup unless something goes very wrong.
