Unassign Item

Hello Everybody,

 

Is there a way to unassign an item.

I mean as we assign item there should be a way to unassign it

 

I am new to Vault Professional

You can delete an item without deleting the file it was assigned from.  You have to set the item to Obsolete first.

 

Not sure if this is the best or only way to do this, or what else it may affect downstream.

Turning an Item Obsolete can be difficult, I've never figured out a tried and true method to do it.

 

You can also delete items as a full rights administrator. Usually it's better to re-assign the item number, though we've yet to run into problems deleteing items for non-items (vendor sub-components primarily).
