Transfer data from 2011 to 2013

Hello,

I have an old version of Vault 2011 Collaboration with database where we work. On other computers we have already installed Vault 2013 with connection (Publisher x Subscriber). How we can transfer our data from 2011 to 2013? Just through backup in 2011 and restore in 2013? Is there any risks? How we should proceed? Restore in Publisher in 2013 and than replicate to Subscriber or restore on both sides?

Thank you for advices

Hello,

Since you have already setup a replicated environment, you will have to unreplicated the current environment, perform a backup in 2011, restore that backup to the 2013 server then enable replication.

Restore it on both sides (Publisher and Subscriber) or only on Publisher and replicate? Its more than 40GB of data across countries.

Any by u nreplicate you mean what? Delete the Subscriber workgroup and delete databases in SQL?

In your current 2013 setup, you will have to delete the Subscriber from the Publisher inside of the ADMS Console.  Then you will have to disable replication on the Publisher.  Then you need to restore the 2011 backup on the Publisher, enable replication and then add the Subscriber.  Replication will create the databases on the subscriber and file store replication can be schedule to add the files to the subscriber.
