Task Manager Vault Check-in Library folder

Is there any way to get Task Manager to check-in library folders into Vault
2009 after migration of files? I only seem to have the option of checking
in workspace files not library ones.

Hi,

Please check the following items:
1. Do you map the Library vault folder? Launch Inventor and active your project, Files-> Vault-> Map Folder, please check if the Library vault folder is mapped.
2. If you have mapped the Library folder, please check if the Library files are used by files in your workspace. If the Library files is not used by workspace files, then it cannot be checked into vault.

Wish this can help you.

Thanks,

Yes, and yes.  When I try to migrate a folder,
only the workspace is available.  I do not want to migrate the entire
project.

Hi, I cannot reproduce your issue. The migration and check in works well. Could you provide more information such as the detail steps or screenshot?

Thanks very much.

You got it.

Attached is a screenshot showing the project file,
with the workspace and libraries defined as well as the task scheduler Check In
to Vault folder browser.  As you can see, only the workspace and its
subfolders are available selections.

Hi smjanows,
I have a question. Dose your workspace and library defind in a same location? Are they both under a folder which your vault project on? I noticed your workspace location is C:\Vaultfiles\SRC Engr\, and your library location is \\2008SERVER02D\Vaultlibrary\Library, I guess they are not same location. So when you perform check in to vault task, you first set the project to C:\Vaultfiles\SRC Engr\SRC_Engr_2009.ipj, in this location, just only have your workspace (SRC Engr), no library folder, so when you browser a folder in this location, just workspace and its subfolders available. If you make your workspace and library in a same location and together with your vault project, that would be ok.
For example:
Vault project: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault 2009\Samples\Inventor 2009\Padlock.
Workspace: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault 2009\Samples\Inventor 2009\Padlock\Designs.
Library: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Vault 2009\Samples\Inventor 2009\Padlock\Library.
Note: I met your situation only the workspace and library definded in a different location.
Hope this helpful for you!
Thanks,
Scott

The workspace and library are in different
locations.  The workspace is a local folder on the workstation, and the
library folders are on a network server.  Isn't that the whole point of
libraries, e.g. to have them on a central server so everyone has the same
version all the time, and available all the time without having to get the whole
folder from the vault each time to find new files?

Having the workspace and library files in the
same location for this to work is not an acceptable solution.  It will not
help me or anyone else running this recommended setup.

Hi smjanows,

I totally agree with you, certainly this is a limitation for current TS, and it is a known issue in R2009, I will push our DEV to fix it, hope it can be addressed ASAP.

Thanks,

Scott
