Tabulated Drawings

I apologize if this was asked before, but since searching is now useless........

How do you handle assigning items to tabulated drawings in for both Inventor and AutoCAD?

Since this posting is a few days old I'm not sure if you have gotten your answer or not.

But here is what we do....

We have a standard numbering scheme for all item masters. However with a tabulated drawing we assign the standard item master number to the drawing and then we use another numbering scheme where the user enters the drawing item master number and then a sequential 2 digit number is assigned at the base of it for all the parts or assemblies that make up the tabulated drawing.
