sql2005 standard vault 5 install

How can I change the default vault password before install to get Vault to install via an all ready existing AutodeskVault instance. The security in SQL2005 is stronger than the default Vault password: AutodeskVault and there for will not install.

If you are trying to upgrade to SQL Express 2005 there is a special
upgrade installer that will take care of this for you.

you can find this burried on the CD in a folder with a name like
"SQL2005Upgrade"

HI Brian,
No, not trying to upgrade. Our company has a standard SQL2005 server license that I installed on a server that has 2 CPU's and 2 gigs of ram I guess this is a limitation for installing the express upgrade I tried :- (
Thanks

Are you using Windows 2003 as the base OS? Do you have a password policy
set for your domain? With SQL 2005, it can use Windows 2003's password
policies. The following link is to page from the SQL Server 2005 Books
online.

Yes our network is a windows 2003 and we do have a domain with a strong password policy. I don't plan on changing the policy just to install vault. The folks here would kick my @#! 🙂
must find another way.

The link has instructions on how to change SQL to not use the password
policy. However it involves using SQL through the command line or the query
analyzer.

For anyone who might be looking for it, the SQL Express Upgrade folder is on
Disc 2/2 at:

:\bin\acadfeui\UpgradeSQL2005

Sincerely,

Michael

Jeff,
is the AutodeskVault SQL instance configured for mixed or windows-only
authentication? (it should be mixed)

Will Vault5 install on a server running standard (SQL Server 9.0.1399) I think this is the version number or its the management studio version number.

Jeff, yes it will. Are you on subscription, if so, please log a Service
Request. If not, contact your reseller and we can work with you through
them.
