SQL express more then 10GB - is possible? Vault very slow!

Hallo everybody,

We have problem with performance on our vault server 2011 - sql 2008 express on win server 2008 R2. I know that R2 isn't supported but after migration 2010-10 we haven't so big problem with performance.

We are 8 users working on the INV2011 connected to vault. We migrated  always data base from older version to new version. I know that sql express is limited to 10GB data base. About 3 months ago it's begin working very slow  - INV + vault + content center - I have check ADMS console and vaults SQL databases was 4GB and  libraries database was 14,5GB. Is it possible that after migration sql databases was less then 10GB and later grow and grow and now we have problem? How works sql express then databases  exceeds 10GB?

It is very possible that the SQL DB will increase in size following a migration.

You could try running the SQL Maintenance plan defined in the Advance Config guide. Part of it involves setting the Recovery Model to Simple, where applicable.

You could also try looking at this blog post

Give those a try but failing that, you may be faced with having to upgrade your SQL. I hope this helps.

thanks Richard for yours advices, they are very usefully information

In my case it will be maintenance script for Vault 2011, I have one from ACG-2011.

I have questions:

Is it correct that I

1-start script from cmd VaultMaintenance.bat  %YourVault%>results.txt

-should all users(vault clients) login out or can they be connected

2-reboot vault server

3-can be problems with performance on INV during reindex properties on the vault server?

4- should I remove the IPv6  even I have installed LNM (FLEXnet) for 2012 products family?
