I currently use Sharepoint for document control, which is good for any Microsoft Product, as it prompts me to make a local copy so I am not working over the server. When I check out an AutoCAD drawing it does not prompt me to save locally therefore works over the server and loads slow. Is there anyway which sharepoint can promopt the user to save a copy locally until the document has been checked back in?
have you tried asking on the microsoft sharepoint forum if there is one?
