Security Tab in VP2014 for users

Gang...

I have  a user which wants to lock down some files in Project Explorer thru the security tab so only he can see them. I would like to give him the ability to do this, but the only way I can get the security tab (Details) to show up is by giving him admin role. I don't want to do this.

I could have swore that once upon a time in the early Vault days we could do this.

How can I give him the ability to hide, lock files without admin rights?

Hi,

Security changes are an admin-only operation. I don't think this functionality has ever been available for no admin users.

My suggestion would be to use lifecycle states to manage this. e.g. you could configure a 'released' or 'locked down' state with appropriate security settings. Then when the use puts files into this state, those security setting would become active. Changing the lifecycle state does not require admin rights.

Hope this helps,

Paul
