Hello,
Is there a way to essentially copy files from Vault and put them in a new location, removing the write protection against workstations that do not have them checked out?
Also, we do not want to uninstall Vault.
We want to put a few projects in a location where a small group of us can access and edit them.
--Thanks in advanced!

Why not just connect this group to the Vault?

It's somewhat of a long story. But after a bit more research, and some trial and error, I have found a resolution.
If you change the attributes of the file(s) or folder(s) in question from read only to "not read only" (for lack of a better term), the files go back to normal.
