PS 4.5: Why aren't custom iProperties available for mapping?

I have created several custom Inventor part iProperties and checked in the
parts with those iProperties into our vault. I have also created several
custom Item properties and assigned them to All Files. When I open the
mapping dialogue box, select a custom item property, and press new to map a
CAD iProperty, none of my custom iProperties are showing up. However I can
open the File Property Management dialogue box and all of my Inventor
iProperties show up as I would expect. Yet none of my custom iproperties are
listed. which leads me to ask:

Why aren't my custom iProperties available to be mapped to my custom item
properties?

And why are my custom item properties not showing up in the File Property
Management dialogue box?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sincerely,

Michael

Hi Michael,

The custom properties in 4.5 aren't listed directly, however you can map
them. When you are in the dialog where you would pick what property to
map to, there is a "custom" button. Simply type the exact name and data
"type" from the Inventor property to create it. This will then list it
and you will be able to map it.

In 5 we show these automatically.

Cheers,

Brian:

Thanks for you help. It was just what I needed to get everything working
correctly. And having them show up automatically in ver 5 will be a nice
improvement.

Sincerely,

Michael
