Place from vault (IV 11/Vault 5)

Every time we use the "Place from Vault" command to place a component from a library folder we receive a message saying that the "Location of the selected file is not in the active project". (See attached .jpg) Is this supposed to happen? Our library folders are mapped, in Vault Explorer, to a shared network drive and the .ipj points to that same network location. If we use the "Place" function and select a file from the network library folder we do not get this message.

Hello,
Does the ipj have the libraries declared in the ipj? Can you post a screen
shot of your ipj editor? Seems like a mapping issue. Thanks.

Here are screen shots of the .ipj, the mapping folders dialog, and the properties dialogs for the two folders in vault explorer.
Thanks

Brian I am seeing this exact issue as well. Hopefully Monday I will have
time to look into it more.

Thanks

Brian,

Does this make any sense? Can you see anything wrong with the set-up?

First, I would guess the RC-80 folder is a subfolder of either
PurchasedComponents or StandardComponents on the network. In looking over
the images, the only discrepancy I find is capitalization, but that should
not be a factor here. I have a similar setup here and I cannot reproduce
this message.

When you get this message with the Place From Vault command and click OK,
does it place the part? If so, what does the Vault browser indicate: a ?
mark or a clear circle (already in Vault).

If you Save and close the assembly before adding the Sprocket, does it open
again without the Resolve Link dialog box? If you use Inventor's Place
Component command, you mentioned that you do not get this message. Does the
assembly still open and resolve the Sprocket?

By all outward appearances, the ipj, Vault Library folder overrides, and
Project Folder mappings look good. Often times, it is a typo that throws a
wrench in.

Is this an iPart Child that you are placing directly by chance? If so, try
to place using the Parent file. Do these files physically exist on the
network?

Everything seems to work fine so far. It will place the part and it shows that it is in the vault (no ?). We do not have any iPart children in our vault yet. Either way, with the Place or Place from Vault functions the files seem to function fine so far, I just do not want to run into a problem later. The files do exist on our network.
