Only showing Sheet 1 of Multi sheet DWF's?

Hi,

(IV 11 dwf ext, sp2 & Vault 5.)
After checking idw's back into my Vault, I was planning to send the automaticly created dwfs to purchasing to obtain quotations. ( or give them access to the DWF folder).

But, after reviewing a few DWF's I find the only the first Sheet of a Multi Sheet DWF is published.
Do I have the 'Create DWF Attachemet' set up correctly, or is this a known bug?

Thanks,
Conor.

Hi,

Just to update people, installed TS1056787_vault hotfix, vault is now back publishing all sheets.

Sorry, should also have mentioned that I also installed TS1062127 hotfix.

Open an IDW in Inventor.
Goto File -> Publish -> Options
Check the box for all sheets (if it is already check, uncheck it, hit ok,
and then go back into publish and recheck it)
Hit OK
Hit cancel

Now check in the IDW and check for all sheets.

That doesn't always work. I had that working at a customer of ours, then
all of a suddent it stopped. Seems to be an 'inconsistent' publish. I'm
currently applying the hotfix mentioned in an earlier post, then will see if
that helps.

I have installed the Hotfix, but still have trouble viewing multiple sheet drawings. Seems that there are two viewers. If you "View in Window..." you get what appears to be the dwf viewer??? (not sure) which does NOT show multiple pages.

However, if you use the option of "Open with Viewer..." (located in Actions drop down), then you get the Inventor Viewer which has a browser bar that lets you see all sheets.

Is there a way to set the Inventor viewer as the default viewer for "View in Window..." and/or change the "View in Window..." to "Open with Viewer..." on either the button or right click menu?

Do a quick check to see if the "Publish" command is set up correctly in IV for multipage drawings.
File.
Publish.
Uncheck Express and check Complete.
(make some change to idw, so vault will update)
Check file back into vault and see if the is helps to display your mulitpages.

You will need to manually publish each IDW file before adding it into the
Vault.
Once you do this, each time you check it out and check it back in, the
multiple dwf's will be published automatically.
But this will not happen, unless you do the manual publish first.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info.

Manual publishing seems to work. It actually changes the button in the Vault from "View in Window..." to "Open with Viewer..." however, the prospect of going back through the 1100+ idw's in the Vault to manually publish them is not feasable (granted not all are multipage, but still...). Also, manually publishing each idw seems an intermediate fix at best.

Any word from Autodesk on fixing this?
Also, anyone know way to set default viewer to Inventor viewer for all dwfs in Vault?

Please give this a try if you are using DWF Viewer 7.

1. Open the DWF Publish options.

2. Turn off the 3D model option.

3. Publish the DWF manually.

4. Check IDW into the Vault.

5. Verify multiple sheets published.

6. Check out IDW.

7. Open the DWF Publish options.

8. Turn on 3D model option.

9. Publish DWF manually.

10. Verify multiple sheets.

11. Check in IDW.

12. Verify multiple sheets.

Also, since the DWF file is the actual file that is being viewed, you will
not be able to change the default viewer for this dialog.

Yes. That is what I did and it worked.

Is there something I can do to the idw template so that all drawings created in the future will automatically publish correctly or do we still have to publish manually if we want it to work?

For existing drawings, is there a way to publish in batches or does it have to be one at a time? If so, this seems to me more like a band-aid than a solution. Do you know what plans if any Autodesk has in mind for a permanent fix?

There is no way, at the moment, to have this done automatically.
You have to publish one time manually, then once the file is added to the
vault it will be automatic after that.

As for the 'batch' mode, try this.

Open Inventor and manually set the 'option' for multiple dwf's and publish
one IDW file.
Then keep Inventor open, and with the task scheduler do a
'check-out/check-in' task.
This 'MAY' publish the multiple sheets to DWF when they are checked in.

I'm now sure if this works, because when Inventor is restarted the 'multiple
sheet' option is reset.

Let me know if this works.
