We have a large assembly that has several sub assemblies within it. The assembly is a product of several designers
working on it simultaneously. Now that the assembly is done, there are a lot of parts that need the"get latest" so the
assemblies will not have the triangles that show it isn't the current rev beside them. There are several sub-assemblies
within each assembly. If I open the assembly and highlight all the parts and use the get revision command, even though
the tree shows a empty circle, the subassembly within the assembly does not update. I have to open each assembly
individually and do a get revision. A real hassle when there are dozens of these sub-assemblies within an assembly. Is there a better way to update a complete assembly that will grab all the subassembly underneath it and get the latest version of all the parts in one shot? I hope you understand what I am trying to explain. This is difficult to put in words for me.
Thanks

Hi Randall,
It doesn't sound like anyone else has responded yet, so I thought I'd suggest that you close Inventor empty the contents of your Workspace and then re-start Inventor and choose "Open From Vault". This should get the latest version of every file.
You might also be able to just close the assembly and use "Open From Vault", when you use Open From Vautl it should get the latest version of the file from the Vault.
I hope this helps

Thanks so much for that information. I tried that on a cable assembly and the updated assembly came in as expected.
The way I was opening the files was initially going to the Vault after I cleared my drive, doing a get, checking it out and then opening the file right from the Vault. It seems as it never opened the latest file. I would have to go to the assembly, switch to the Vault, highlight everything and do a get latest revision. Sometimes even that did not work 100% of the time. If you open from the Vault, isn't it supposed to pull the latest revision? Also, is there a simple clever trick to clearing your drive?
Thanks again
Randall
