MDF UNKNOW ERROR

I posted a couple of days ago with an unkown error while checking out. I have been reading posts and was told that my 2GB limit had been reached. This morning I was checking my filestore size and I only have 14000 files! I have read in several psts that I ahould be able to have 50000 to 75000 files why that large discepancy.

Are you using ThumbNails in the Vault? This can take up quite a bit of
space.

I found thumbnail files in some directories. Should I delete those files? I looked around but could not find out how to turn off thumbnails? I was able to restore my vault but cannot do anything with it. I ran the osql shrink data base and it finished without any errors but I still can't do anything with my vault. I tried to purge and it says there is not enough room. I am at home know an may not be back to work untile next week (sick kid) but any help is appreciated.

I did not read your earlier post yet.. but regarding the mention of the 2GB size limit..

It does not refer to the size of your filestore which is what you are showing in the posted jpg image.

The 2GB limit is on the database size (not filestore) when vault is run on MSDE instead of full sql. You need to check the properties of the vault.mdb file.

Sue

I don't believe ther is a size limit on the file store.

I also had this problem a few months ago. It is about the size of the
database file, not the file store. I installed Microsoft SQL Server 2005,
this will handle a greater database file up to 4 GB. You can download it
free from the Microsoft site.

Check this thread for more info on vault & sql 2005.
It does handle 4GB database & unlimited users but there are some new limits on how it handles RAM (1GB limit) & # of processors (1).

TTIJAM

SQL Express 2005 is not support with Vault 4. Please do not install that
version.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I do understand about the data base size compared to the file store size but my file store is realativly small. Irvin when I get back to work wich will be Monday I will file a support request, thanks for all of your help.
