Manufacturing BOM and Purchasing BOM

I'm having an issue differentiating between a Manufacturing BOM and Purchasing BOM. Is there anything to differentiate the two in Productstream?

In case my terminology is confusing, here's how I see the two: Two "things" are manufactured - they are both created from the same bought-in material. Each part has a unique (PS) Item number. These two item numbers form the Manufacturing BOM. As far as the purchasing BOM is concerned, it will see 1 item - the bought-in material - and 2 items related to the creation of the two "things".

My view is there is little we can do with PS to generate the purchasing BOM. Am I missing anything obvious here?

You are correct that Productstream does not currently support multiple "views" of the same BOM depending on what the BOM is used for (manufacturing vs. purchasing). You can add purchasing-specific properties to items which would aid somewhat, but there would no way to have a true M-BOM and P-BOM as a full ERP system would have.

Thanks. That really confirmed what we thought. You never know unless you ask!
