We had applied server updates (2 months ago) to our server did a reboot and have not been able to access the vault through local management console or from client side since. I have ensured all services are started and pulled the admin user name and password from our spreadsheet but nothing. I was told that our past administrator had the same issue once before and was able to get in but he left no notes on this (contacted him but he doesn't remember what he did) and our support for this product has expired but we have our plant drawings that need extraction still.
Any help in this matter would be greatly apprciated.
Kevin
Kevin,
To clarify, you are unable to log into vault? Or you have lost the vault administrator password?
Currently not able to login to vault. I have tried using the documented password and that is not working and I talked with the last server admin and he said he didn't change the password. There was some proccess he had to do last time to get back in and he could not remember what it was. One of our autocad managers here thought it was some type of backup/restore, but if I can not login I can not run that 🙂 (but he is just guessing he is not sure what the admin did last time either).
It appears all services are running and I have restarted them all, but is tehre maybe a sequence that they need to be started in?
Kevin,
No - no specific sequence required.
By the sounds of it, you have just lost the password. Are you able to login to the vault with any of your other vault user's?
Can you post your vlog and console log for review?
oh and while sarching for the logs I saw it is vault 2009 not 2008. Also I don't see a successful login or operation since Jan 2011 so it has been down longer than teh user stated.

I need to head out and work on another issue, but I saw some errors in some older vlogs I will post them tomorrow and keep this open for discussion,
Kevin,
Is it asking for the impersonation user? (can you take a screen shot?)
If so, you can obtain that information from the web.config file from the line starting with:
<identity impersonate="true"

Kevin,
If able, please log a support request through subscription center so support can help reset the password back to default. Please let me know if you are able to do so.
