Install Vault WG/Pro client after Vault Basic Client 2015

This has happened a few times now:

  1. Install a suite containing AutoCAD and Inventor
  2. Install the Vault Basic Client 2015 with it.
  3. Install the Vault Professional Client
  4. Apply SP0 Update 2, which updates both editions of the Vault Client
  5. Launch AutoCAD
  6. Browse to the Vault Ribbon

None of the panels have icons on them, so it's unusable.

  1. Go to Windows Programs and Features
  2. Select Vault Basic Client 2015 & Add/Remove Features
  3. Notice the AutoCAD add-ins aren't loaded.
  4. Select them and install
  5. Select Vault Professional Client 2015 & Add/Remove Features
  6. Notive the AutoCAD add-ins aren't loaded.
  7. Select them and install.

Now everything will work again.

Hi Scott,

Just tried this and I am not seeing the issue. I used PrDS. Please let me know if you happen to see again.

Thanks

I'm using FDSU. I haven't installed PrDS in this way yet. So maybe it's something odd about FDS?

Scott,

Tried with FDSu as well and I am not seeing it either. Vault add-in is loaded.

Hi Senthil,

I've been thinking about this a bit more and I've realised I've put you crook, Sorry! The steps were wrong, I realized I missed out some fairly decent steps. Here are the steps I believe are causing the issue:

  1. Install a Factory Design Suite Ultimate 2015
  2. Install the Vault Basic Client 2015 at the same time.
  3. Install the Vault Professional Client.
  4. Apply SP0 Update 2, which updates both editions of the Vault Client.
  5. Install the Plant Design Suite Ultimate 2015 - Install Revit Structure, Plant 3D and Vanilla AutoCAD.
  6. Apply updates.
  7. Launch AutoCAD
  8. Browse to the Vault Ribbon

None of the panels have icons on them, so it's unusable.

The Revit/Plant 3D stuff could be messing with it?

Hi Scott,

Tried that as well. But i have few questions.

( Which Update? SP0 Update 2 for Vault?)
  7. Launch AutoCAD
  8. Browse to the Vault Ribbon - I am not seeing Vault Ribbon at all. Which is correct. Because both the clients (Basic and VP) are installed Prior to this AutoCAD installation. So no vault add-in for AutoCAD. My question is how did you get the Vault add-in?
