Install errors for Vault Professional

I am having a difficult time trying to get Vault Professional installed on server running 2008 standard.

The error I get  during the checks is:

CHECKING ASP STATUS:

Accessing an http static file faildat URL http://localhost:80/testASP/TestASPNetStatic.txt

I have had the systems IT person working on trying to porrect the isssue, but have not had any luck. I know he has

Worked on permissions

Fire Wall settings (no windows firewall is running, there is a hardware fire wall)

IIS was installed by the Vault Install

Windows Explorer security was adjusted

Still cant get past this error, any help would be greatly appriciated.

Attached a copy of the Sytem Test Screen.

Have you tried clicking the link in the error box and following the instructions on how to fix the problem?

I did try that, I had solved all other issues, but this one I couldnt fix. So I left it to the IT guys and they cant seem to cure it either. If I clicked on the link it took me to the attached image, the second and third fixes in the image is what they want me to do for Server 2008.

They tried it and still the same issue?/ Kinda stumped.

Oh, thanks for the reply.

Hi Mike,

To help me understand the situation, would you plese provide more information below:

  • What's your OS and it's service patch? 64bit?
  • Did you install any other products in this server, eg Sharepoint?
  • While you install the server, did you install by default setting or not?

Thanks.

Frank

The system has Server 2008 Standard Version 6 build 6002 SP2 installed.

It is a new server so there is not much on it. There was IIS loaded which gave me fits, so I uninstalled it and let the Vault install load what it needed. This corrected all errors (14 at first) except this one.

Sharepoint is not running, and I was installing the defaults for Vault as well.

Thanks again for any help on this.

Mike

Hi Mike,

If I'm understanding correctly, you have installed Sharepoint, but it's not running. right? If that's the case, we should switch the communication port of Vault Server, which means we should not use the default configuration to install Vault server.  So you can go to the configuration page before you click the install button, and change the default web port.

Hope this is helpful.
