Have an issue with ipart\iassemblies

Have an issue with ipart\iassemblies

Running Inventor 2013 sp1.1 update 2 and Vault Pro 2013 sp1

After installing Vault servicepack 1 on Vault server and Client, Inventor crashes when trying to generate members from ipart/iassembly factory. If we log out of Vault(from Inventor) it works, but now the members have to be checked out manually.
We uninstalled service pack 1 on the client side and then we could generate members...
But now the dialog"open from Vault" will cause Inventor to crash.
In the readme for the servicepack 1 it say that both client and server should be upgraded at the same time!!!
Anyone else seeing this?

Svein,

Is your File Name different than the Member Name? If that is the case then we are aware of this issue and we are working on this issue.

Regarding the crash on Open from Vault, Can you please confirm whether my following understanding is correct or not?

1. Install Inventor 2013 SP1.1 Update 2

2. Install VP 2013 SP1 (Server and Client)

3. Uninstall only SP1 for VP 2013 Client and Leave the server at SP1.

4. Use Open from Vault - Now it crashes.

Is this the workflow you are trying?

Do you have any workaround?

There are thousens of ipart\iassemblies with members used in thousens of designs.... 😞

Svein,

Unfortunately the only workaround is to log out of Vault before generating the members. As I said earlier we are actively working on this issue to resolve it ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regarding the Open from vault Crash issue we are trying to reproduce the issue and will come back to you once we are done with that.

Svein,

We tried the workflow to reproduce the Open from vault crash issue and we could not reproduce it. We tried it in Win 7 x86 and x64. In both machines Open from Vault worked fine after uninstalling SP1 for the client and keeping the SP1 for the server. I would recommend you to do a repair install to see if that helps.

Also please note that the iPart member name issue is not introduced in the SP1. The issue happens without SP1 as well.

Thanks again!

Hi

Thanks for you replies:-)

I even completly uninstalled both Inventor and Vault client.

Reinstalled without sp1 on Vault client, problem still there.... 😞

We then installed sp1 again, no crash on "open from".

So this was the solution for now.

I now know that the iPart member name issue not introduced by sp1 generally, but for two different customer it did not appear before sp1.

Anyway we hope for a fix for 2013 release on this problem?

At the moment they have to log out of Vault from Inventor, when generating members.
