Files and Folders missing from List but show in search

I am using Vault 2014, but am getting frustrated at an issue that I just cant seem to get rid of.

We had an old use that generated a complete assembly in a certain folder, however he saved the files using existing part numbers.

I am now trying to remove duplicates in the vault but keep coming up agains thtese files.

My problem is that despite the search showing the folder and the file names, I cannot delete or rename them, as they dont appear in the folder and file list within the Vault.

I have also tried recreating the folder but it tells me it already exists.

How can I get rid of this?

Assuming you are using Vault Workgroup or above, it sounds like there is an ACL on the folder that is not granting you read access.

If this is the case, you should be able to log in as a user with the Administrator role, see the offending folder(s) and modify their security to be something more appropriate.

In that case, I have no idea what would cause this.

I suggest openning a product support case.
