Dear Vault Support,
This problem is happening to 3 users. This is an actual project and it has already wasted a lot of man hours for us.
Please see attached video.
Please advise.
Thanks
Jerome
Hi jeromefc,
Can you let mw know what side-side AutoCAD products you have on the machines.(Like AutoCAD 2014, AutoCAD Vault Client 2014 etc)
What version of Plant 3D are you using, 2014 with SP or 2014 with Extension.?
Please let us know the details to diagnose the problem.
Thanks
Also, did the project was edited or any file action taken via Vault Explorer rather than using the Plant 3D application,
if that is the case, there are chances of project getting corrupted.
Hi Ghanata,
Autodesk Plant Design Suite Ultimate 2014. Plant 3D 2014 ext 2.
Vault Professional Client 2014.Update 2
I'm not sure if they did any kind of editing in the Vault Explorer.
But we deleted a local project folder. please see this link Failed to get file from Vault
Please advise.
Thanks for the help.
Hi jeromecastaneda,
Since you have Plant Design Suite installed along with Vault Client, I assume there is also AutoCAD installed on your machine.
So can you follow this steps, and try to open the project. There might be AutoCAD Vault Add-in installed along with the Vault Client which will cause this issue.
Go to Control Panel>Programs>Uninstall Program
Select Vault Professional Client > Add and Remove Features
Here AutoCAD add-in should be unchecked and continue.
Now launch Plant 3D , and try to open the project, it should work.
Also we recommend not to use Vault Client for editing Plant Vault projects in 2014, it might cause some inconsistency and will cause project to get corrupted sometimes.
let me know if this works out for you

Thanks Ashish,
I still got the same problem.
I'm not sure if someone from our group made an edit in the Vault Explorer.
I hope this problem is resolved in the next release. We are upgrading soon. 🙂
Regards
Jerome
Hi Jerome
Deleting any Plant3D project files using Vault Explorer will cause the project to fail to open. Autodesk always recommends to perform all file removal operation using Plant3D-Vault addin. Plant3D and Vault use seperate databases to keep track of the files. A Plant3D Vault project will have unqiue file IDs stored in the plant 3D database that corresponds to a certain file within the Vault database. If you delete a file using Vault client, the Plant3D database doesn't get updated with the change resulting a missing file and eventually the project fails to open.
