Error - format not recognizedIt's

Hi,

I have a problem in one notebook. When I open the Vault and select any file, this error occurs.

It's no close the vault application, but not open the details or any think for the file. All files for sign.

Inventor, Vault 2014, all SP and HotFix's installed.

Windows 8.1

Any suggestion?

Is that popping up when you just click the file in Vault, or when you try and right click and open it?

Just click. Not Open.

Hmm, if it was happening on my PC I'd probably check:

1) Does it happen when I click every file type, e.g. Inventor parts and AutoCAD drawings?

2) Does it happen on any other users PCs? And check if it also pops up when browsing Vault files through a CAD client.

3) I'd log into Vault client as a different user and try.

4) I'd right click the toolbars at the top and reset the grid layout.

5) If this is only happening on one particular file type, I'd go into Windows Default Programs and reassociate the program with the relevant file type.

6) Run a repair on Vault Client

7) Reinstall Vault Client

😎 Repair or reinstall .NET Framework

If I'd went through all that and the error is still popping up, providing that it's only happening to my PC, I'd remove the entire Vault client and all related Windows components, delete all leftover folders in the windows user profile folders, and put them back on from scratch, then all the latest service packs etc.
