ERROR: CHECKING ASP STATUS

First of all I will give you a background on how I got this error message.

I finally got Vault Manager to install on the server runnning Windows Server 2003. As we bought a new server and made a fresh install. The install was successful without SP1. After installing Vault Manager, windows update wanted to run SP1. Then things started to go wrong. Clients could not log into the vault. Although logging into the Vault Manager was possible by the administrator. After talking to the reseller in trying different methods to try and fix it, it was to no avail, and we had to end up uninstalling Vault Manager and reinstalling it.

After reinstalling it, (now with SP1) the pre-installation checks give me a ASP error the actual error is "The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found" I followed the instructions in asking me to uninstall NET.Framework 1.1. But noticed I didn't have v1.1 but v2.0, so continued to uninstall it v2.0. Tried to re-intall, and the same error message is shown. Tried to uninstall SP1 retried an install and same error.

Now I've cleaned up the OS deleted all folders and registry entries associated with Vault. Installed SP1 and NET.Framework 2.0. Then did an install and same error.

Does anyone know how to finx this problem or bypass it?

Have you allowed ASP.NET in IIS? See the attached image...

Thanks for your help John, all is going well. I never looked to check that. It seems as thought uninstalling the Vault Manager from the workstation reset the IIS - ASP.Net service on the server machine, and NOT from SP1 being installed.

Check and see if there is any information in the Windows Event Log.
