Diaster Recover with Vmware ESX

Hi All,

I was wondering if you can point me in the right direction.

We currently have Vault 2012 Professional and we testing out our new Virtual Machine Servers to see if we can restore the server from a backup incase the site ever does down.

We were able to restore restore to the new server. LMtool says it started the server but when we did a "Perform Status Enquiry" and failed. I opened the debug log and it said the host id doesnt match up. and the the hostid on server line is invalid.

I think this might be because the mac address has changed? So we were curious if changed the new vmserver to use the same mac the old server will the license work?

The license file is created based on the MAC address and computer name, so yes, changing the MAC address on the new VM should resolve the issue as long as the computer name is the same as well.
