I cannot believe this is allowed, that Vault Editors can delete files in
Vault (providing those files have no other dependant files)
If Vault is meant to store a companies work history - so to speak - then
how is it that common everyday users - Vault Editors - are allowed to
delete anything?
We were about to go live with Vault on the 10th of this month, with v. 4,
until I had a temporary employee (on contract, but he needs to be able to
add, and modifiy files in Vault) test their capabilities on Vault.
To my unpleasant surprise, he was able to delete an empty folder (found a
fix for this one already), then he was able to delete a .dwg file, then
starting at the upper level of Inventor files, he was able to delete a
.idw, then .iam and lastly the .ipt files that go with the assembly.
We don't allow our users that ability on our current drawing storage
setup - why would we allow that with Vault?
Long story short, is there a way to modifiy this behavior with Vault 4,
and/or since Vault 5 is our hands already, can Vault 5 be modified to
disable this "feature"?
TIA
