Cannot print Change Order Summary

Using Vault Pro 2012...

Whenever we try and print the change order summary we get a message... "There was an internal error and Internet Explorer is unable to print this document"

I've tried on a couple different systems and get the same results.

It doesn't seem to matter what the title is nor what we select to print. The Print Preview is displayed correctly, but when we attempt to print we get the error. I've tried numerous printers including our Xerox as well as the Microsoft XPS printer.

I'm using IE 9, my system has all Windows Updates.

Any ideas?

Mike

Mike,

The issue is with IE 9. I also see the same issue with IE 9 and not with IE 7 or 8.

So what are my options?

IE 9 is not my default browser (Google Chrome is) so I can't "trick" it that way

Thanks for reporting this issue. We could reproduce the issue to Development team to take a look at this issue. Is there anyway you can try with IE 8 for now?

Mike,

The only way I have been able to "fix" the printing issue (among others in Vault) is to uninstall IE9.  It is not like I use it anyway (Chrome and Firefox only here).

In Win7, go to Control Panel\Programs and Features.  Click on "View installed updates" then scroll down to Microsoft Windows.  Right click on the Internet Explorer 9 update and uninstall.  It will automatically revert back to IE8 and fix the problem. (At least it did for me.)

You will probably want to make sure you hide the IE9 update the next time it comes up in your Windows Update list.

Good luck,

I see this is still a problem with a new machine using Win7 32bit & VaultPro 2013.

No news?

Correct... I have all current Hot Fixes installed for Vault 2013, and it still does not support IE9.  With IE9 installed on a machine, a change order summary cannot be printed.

See my previous post for a workaround.

Yep, still an issue with Vault Pro 2013. Autodesk Tech Support confirmed it as a defect for me, No current solution or a timeframe for a fix and as it was a problem in 2012 and 2013 I'm not holding my breath.

I appreciate the workaround but going back to IE 8 isn't really an option

This issue goes back to Vault 2010. Autodesk...GET IT FIXED!!!!

Only work around that we have found is to do screen shots.

Did I mention....Autodesk...GET IT FIXED!!!!

Yes. OneNote's snip tool has been a life saver.

I refuse to roll back IE because of this one issue.

Hope my machine doesn't catch fire when IE10 rolls around...

Seems like IE10 is not the workaround itself

Have just tested on two configurations:

1.

Win7Pro x64 RUS

IE10.0.9200.16576

VaultPro2013 SP1 RUS (17.1.16.0)

FAILED to print

2.

Win7Ult x64 ENG

IE10.0.9200.16576

VaultPro2013 SP1 ENG (17.1.16.0)

SUCCESS printing

Just to continue the usage cases:

Printing change orders works on the new workstation I was recently assigned.

- En-US

- Win 7 Pro, 6.1.7601 SP1

- Vault Pro 2013, 17.0.62.0

- IE 10, 10.0.9200.16576

I hope not to be back when we roll out 2014.

Uma,

I tried with the following same scenario and I do not see the issue. Please find the video showing the workflow that I do.

Win7Pro x64 RUS SP1

IE10.0.9200.16576 - Russian

VaultPro2013 SP1 RUS (17.1.16.0)

On Friday there were at least 3 clients with issue reproducible.

Config of one I've described. Today I've tried to reproduce issue on that client and issue was not reproducible there.

Thus issue could be not permanent (there were no changes made neither to ADMS nor to the client since Friday).

Then I made sure issue is still reproducible on other two (one RUS VE and one ENG).

But then IE9 was discovered on both. After updating IE the issue gone.

Thus situation is somehow improved in IE10 but can depend on something else.

Please fix! 4+ years for this problem to still exist is unacceptable!!!

I would ge tthe error with IE9. Upgraded to IE10 and I no longer get the error, however once I select the printer to print to nothing happens. The printer never receives it and nothing is in the print que.

Regards,
Kenny
