Can't edit Autocad Block Attribute in Vault

We've mapped an Autocad Block Attribute to the DESCRIPTION property in the Vault.

We can see the property and the value but it cannot be edited in the Vault.

When we try get two messages...one says "successfully updated" and the other says it "failed to update"....its "read only". (See attached)

We need this so we can change property values "en masse", and not have to open each Autocad drawing.

We are using Vault Basic 2014

Thanks

Your screen shows Vault Basic 2012 and your description says Vault 2014. What is true?

Hi,

I think I know what causes your problem. Vault can map an Autocad block attribute only ONCE.

.... in other words if you have a drawing with few (or many) layouts and in each layout have the same legend (attributes) then vault can not read all of them and it is getting confused !

I know your post is a couple of months old, but did you by any chance found a solution to it?

I have 1,800 drawings to import into Vault, ALL with the same company legend but Vault can not do it.

thank you.

Petros
