Can files be replicated on demand?

Hi.

I am putting together a proposal to set up a fully replicated Vault environment consisting of 3 servers and have been asked this question. A user on Slave 1 makes changes to a file and checks them back in. Later that same day, before a scheduled replication has occured, a user on Slave 2 wants to work on the same file. How exactly does this work?

Is there a way to force immediate replication of a folder?

Does taking ownership of a file force immediate replication?

Dave,

If the file has not been replicated to the other site, the user will recieve a dialog stating that the file is not currently not at your site - do you want to download it?  Choosing yes at that dialog will bring the file to the local site and allow the user to open it.
