Backup and restore Subscriber

Hello,

I am hoping someone here has some experience with this.

We are running vault pro 2012 in a fully replicated environment. One of the subscribers has a disk failing in the raid. the OS disk.

We are currently storing our os on 1 disk and our sql database and filestores on another. Should it be possible to just reinstal the OS and reconnect the database and file store without having to replicate the database and files from the publisher?

I am also curious about this because we plan to migrate our server OS's to at least 2008 from 2003 in the coming year, and this question will come up again.

There is document published from autodesk about backing up and restoring Subscribers and publishers, but i was hoping to hear from someone with actual experience.
