Autodesk Vault 2012 upgrade

Hi! I'm following the instructions at the link below to upgrade an existing test install of Vault Pro from 2011 to 2012.  I had a couple questions.

http://wikihelp.autodesk.com/Vault/enu/2012/Help/03._Installation_and_Configuration/006Vault_Impleme...

1) Can I use the existing LMTOOLS license server that 2011 installed, or should I use the version on the vault 2012 disc? (existing version is 11.7.0.0 build 73797 x64_n6)

2) Our current SQL 2008 installation is SP1, but it seems that getting SQL as up to date as possible before the upgrade is prudent.  Is SP3 for SQL supported, or do you recommend upgrading to SP2?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can surely use your current version even if it's probably better to update LMtools (if someone from Autodesk can confirm). For example, i'm a bad student because i'm still running my 2012 products with LMtools 11.5.0.0 build 56654 x64_n6 (but if I remember well, I had problems with the latest version).

For your second question it's clearly mentionned in the official documentation that you can use these databases :

Single site :

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition (SP2) (32 ou 64 bits)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Workgroup Edition (SP2) (32 ou 64 bits)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard & Enterprise Edition (SP2) (32 ou 64 bits)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition (32 ou 64 bits)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard & Enterprise Edition (32 ou 64 bits)

Replication :

Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Standard & Enterprise Edition (SP2) (32 ou 64 bits)
Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard & Enterprise Edition (32 ou 64 bits)

Thanks, I understand your first answer.

I'm confused if you understood my second question though.  SQL 2008 is currently SP3, and SP2 is the latest version called out in the system requirements you posted. This is why I asked if it was supported.

1) Yes, you should use the newer FlexNET License Manager (and tools) that comes on the Vault 2012 media.

2) You should upgrade to SQL Server 2008 SP2.
