Assigning an Item from a MDT .DWG

In the past couple weeks whenever we try to assign an Item from a MDT file Productstream will try and create an Item for everything in the Catolog (including the titleblock.) It never did that before and I only want it to create one Item for the dwg. Not all the erroneous parts inside it. Did I toggle a setting that changed this?

Thanks,

Jamie

Hi Jamiescherer5777,

I'm afraid that's the intended
behaviour. During Assign Item, system will recognise all the part/BOM
information that could be found within MDT files.

Currently, all BOM extraction is taken place
during Check-In of drawing via MDT. If you simply want to use MDT files to do
Assign Item (as 1 item for the dwg), you might chose to add the drawing via
these methods (which BOM extraction does NOT take place):

1. Directly drag and drop the MDT drawing into
Vault Client.

2. Use Autoloader to upload MDT drawing to Vault
Server.

Again, these two methods will not extract BOM
info and you might not be use MDT files (as you could), please evaluate these
two options, see if they really fit your requirement.

thanks.

Rgds,
Chear Huat.
