advanced search dialog box doesn't open

I went to do an advanced search and the dialog box does not appear at all. It shows up down in the task bar but when I click on it to make it active nothing appears. I try to minimize and then restore from the tack bar and I get nothing. I tried to reboot I even tried the reinstall from add/remove programs. The strange thing is if I hit Alt F it will give me the file pull down and let open a saved search but nothing will show up. I am thinking this must be a windows issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Rob

I wonder if maybe it's positioning the window off-screen. If you look in
the directory: %appdata%\Autodesk\VaultExplorer\Objects, see what
happens if you delete the DialogLocations.xml file.

When i RMB click on the task bar icon, and hit "move", the cursor does come from off the screen.
Any other ideas?

Just informing you of another fix.
I deleted the vault common and Vault explorer folders in the documents and settings folders, to no avail.
I then changed my screen resolution to the highest res, and the advanced find suddenly re-appeared, dont know why.
Any ideas why?

I can see why the higher res would allow you to see it. Could it be due to
you running at this higher res first, then lowering the res later when the
problem became apparent? As for deleting the folders/xml files, that should
resolve any problems you have by essentially resetting everything to the
out-of-the-box defaults, but you have to exit out of Vault Explorer, delete
the folders, then re-start Vault Explorer for it to work. That's the only
caveat I can think of..

Thanks
Bob
