ADMS won't open

I am trying to open the ADMS so I can set up a custom content center for my company.  We are using Inventor 2011.  I have the Vault Client on my laptop as well as Inventor Professional.  I log in to the company's server.  I see the desktop icon/shortcut for the ADMS, but when I click on it, it immediately closes...any ideas?  I don't even get to the login screen.

thanks!

Is someone else logged into the server and have ADMS Console open?

You can login to the server and open task manager - under the processes tab ensure "show processes from all users" is checked, and see if connectivity.admsconsole.exe is running under a seperate user.

Nobody is logged in and I am still unable to access the ADMS.  Any ideas?

Andy - I have yet to be able to get into the ADMS to set up custom content.

Nobody is logged in.  I log in to the remote server, click on the ADMS short cut and it won't launch.

I haven't been able to figure out how to access processes on the remote server.

thanks,

elise,

If you login to the server via the console, does the crash still occur?

Can you attach the log files?  maybe there is a .net issue or other information that we can use to pinpoint the problem.

Warning before following the steps below please read post 16 below Warning

"Deleting the \ProgramData\Autodesk\VaultServer folder could delete your filestore if it's located in there, which it is by default.  That would destroy your Vault and delete all your files. "

The best way to fix this problem -

1)uninstall Autodesk Vault Server

2) and manualy deleting  folders

c:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADMSVault\

c:\ProgramData\Autodesk\VaultServer\

c:\Program Files\Autodesk\ADMS 2014\

c:\Program Files\Autodesk\Data Management Applications\

3) Instal Autodesk Vault Server

And now the rest of the story .... ?

I have exactly the same issue.

What have you tried doing already to fix it?

Under no circumstances follow the advice in the post above by gRanid unless you know your Vault server and exactly how your Vault is installed.  Deleting the \ProgramData\Autodesk\VaultServer folder could delete your filestore if it's located in there, which it is by default.  That would destroy your Vault and delete all your files.  Careless advice, that post should be removed.

Got it figured out.

The SQL server services for AUTODESKVAULT was stopped.  Trying to login with an invalid account.

I went to Services -> SQL Server (SQLEXPRESS) and I saw that it was stopped.  I started and it gave a login error.  In properties, Log On Tab, I changed Log on as to Local System account, then started the SQL service.

Hi Jonathan - glad your environment is running again.

It may be benificial to find the root-cause of the SQL stoppage.

A possible example being, if the Database engine was running as .\SQLDBE1 and the account was locked, it may be that the password simply changed, or someone was trying to access the system with invalid credentials...
