Adding Library to Vault

I've created a Vault project and set my working folders to my hard drive. I have a library structure on our server which many people use. My project is set up to use the library on the server. In the Vault, where do I set my working folder for the libray, to my hard drive or the server where the files reside? The way it's set up now, when you insert a library file it pulls from the server not the vault. Is this correct, if so, why put library parts in the Vault?

Thanks - Jim

This is wrong. You need a vaulted project inside the top-level
library folder to work on library files that maps the working
directory to the library folder in the vault. Then you can edit
library parts just like any other file.

It still sucks no matter how you slice it.

Dave,

Start a new thread on the Vault/ iPart Child issue & try to get Kent Keller's attention to the thread.

I remember from a thread quite a while ago that he was having issues and he may have found a solution or info that would help you in your situation.

You might try posting in the mcadforums vault group. It's not quite as active as this one but your questions may reach a different audience.

Sorry I couldn't help.

Sue
