If you have Vault Professional 2014 client installed, it is compatible with Vault Professional 2015 server.
Otherwise, there could be several causes for that error. Please see this blog post:
I have tried on a few different workstations to confirm this issue, with 3dsmax 2014 we are no longer able to login
to Vault 2015 server. From 3dsmax 2015 we are able to login to Vault 2015. Can you test this on your end?
Unfortunately many of our 3dsmax plugins have yet to be updated to 2015 so for the meantime we are using 2014.
thanks,
Blake
If you have 3DS Max 2014 & 2015 installed on a workstation, you should also have Vault client 2014 & 2015 installed.
Jeff,
Yes I do have both Vault clients installed, unfortunately 3dsmax 2014 Open from Vault errors out (as in first attachment)
but is successful when using 3dsmax 2015 (second attachment)
Same username/login credentials in both situations.
thanks,
Blake
3ds max maybe different
since the add in is built inside of 3ds max it is not enabled when you install the client like some of the other products
2014 may not be forward compatible with 2015 like some of the other autodesk products
