Vault 2010 API: Inventor Reporting File Edited Out of Turn Conditions

I created an Inventor Add-In that saves files and immediately uploads them to the Vault. But afterwards, the Vault Add-In tells me that they've been edited out of turn.

What are the conditions for the Vault Add-in to report this?

We use the create date and checksum of the file to know what version it
is.
The create date of the file needs to match the check-in Date/Time of the
version.
