how to get local path from vault file - I'm lost please help.

I'm lost please help.

I have this file path inside vault:

$/VaultFiles/Development/Part1.ipt

I want to download to this file path:

C:\VaultFiles\Development\Part1.ipt

How do i extract the vaultfilepath from a file "$/VaultFiles/Development" insite vault and turn it into a local filepath?

I search the vault for a filename and when the file is found i want to download the file to the local workspace.

I have the download working when i pass a local string "C:\VaultDownloadDir\Part1.ipt"

Please help.

Regards Kent boettger

Hello, kbo!

There are several ways do download file to required folder from Vault Explorer.

1. In regular way. You should manage your working folder: Autodesk Wikihelp. But this feature could be unable, when administrator has enforced working folder.

2. Manually. You could select the folder where you're downloading files to. More at Wikihelp in "Get/Checkout Files Workflows -> Vault Client–Get/Checkout -> Learn About the Get/Checkout Dialog" section.

3. Simply using drag'n'drop.

Kind regards, Dmitry.
