Access Send File via the API

Please can someone tell me if its possible to trigger the Send file command from the API or what's needed to replicate its events via the API?

Essentially i want to pass a custom list of files to the Send file command one way or another, then have it work its usual magic.

Hi Scott,

The Vault API does not support the ability to invoke Vault Explorer commands.

The watch-folder example on Doug Redmond's blog could be helpful. (It shows a way to send email using an API).

You can use a tool like Fiddler to see the webservice calls Vault Explorer is making when the Sending a file. (to give you an idea on what part of the Vault API can be used). This blog post discusses Fiddler.

Thanks,

Wayne

Thanks for your reply Wayne, much appreciated, we will look into it.

I would add this idea "The Vault API to support the ability to invoke Vault Explorer commands." to the Vault Ideastation, but so far it has a very poor track record of seeing any ideas making it into the product.
