In 1991 I graduated from the Moscow Architectural Institute, majoring in architecture. Since 1996 I have held the position of a leading architect in a design firm engaged in the restoration of architectural monuments. My story of using AutoCAD started long ago. I first became acquainted with version 12 for DOS in 1994, then there were 14 versions for Windows, version 2000. At first I had to learn the program on my own using the few books available to me. Then, with the advent of affordable Internet, I gleaned a lot from the AutoCAD community. I've been a member of AUGI since 1996. AutoCAD became one of my permanent work tools and I wanted to get the most from the program. I worked to master AutoLISP as well, eventually writing several routines for myself and my company. A few years ago I became interested in alternatives to the Windows operating system and in 2008 almost completely shifted to the Mac. The biggest problem changing operating systems was the lack of my main program - AutoCAD. I started using AutoCAD on Parallels Desktop but couldn't help thinking about the lack of AutoCAD for Mac. In April 2009, with great enthusiasm, I took part in an Autodesk survey about the need to release AutoCAD for Mac. Later, I became a member of the beta testing program and welcomed the long-awaited AutoCAD for Mac release in the autumn of 2010.
