I never turned on a computer until I turned 40, in 1993. I am a 3d modeling fanatic. Nothing is better than the adrenaline high I get when using SolidWorks. I started out in AutoCAD in 1993, in school and for some reason (probably because I am a 55 year old woman) my jobs have always started me out in AutoCAD and I managed to wiggle my way in to 3d modeling in ACAD, then wiggle wiggle in to SolidWorks. Loved it and never wanted to go back, and then the big slap in the face. My husband died, I got laid off, the big economic crash came, and then 2 years later I finally found a job and at first, I got in as a temp. I took any job in the field I could find, and had a 35% decrease in pay and am now working with a title called "Drafter", AGAIN!. I have a bachelors degree in Manufacturing Technologies and several classes in SolidWorks. My bachelor's degree provided me with the education in AutoCAD 10-14, as well as Designer 2.0, which wasn't too bad, but I ended up back on AutoCAD because not very many companies bought Designer (which is kind of like AutoCAD and Inventor combined). I have been here for 1.5 years and am currently looking for a SolidWorks designer or engineering position in the Chandler, Az area. I want to go back!!
