Hi everyone,
Did you notice anything different this morning when you swung by Autodesk.com? Anything...stand out to you? That's right, we officially launched our new brand today! We've answered a few questions you might have about these changes below, but if you'd like to learn more, take a look at this blog post from Autodesk's Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Bradshaw.
What was the inspiration for the new logo?
The Autodesk logo went through multiple iterations before we agreed on this particular version. The new logo was inspired by…origami! Origami is the convergence of art, science, and math, and we very much felt like this art form aligned well with our broad product portfolio.
Besides the logo, what else is changing?
This re-brand represents the transformations we’ve been making to the Autodesk business for the past couple years. You will see changes in not just our logo, but also in our imagery, iconography, color palette, and even in our overall tone and voice.
Why abstract images?
While we’ve typically relied on industry-focused imagery, our intention with this new, more abstract imagery is to appeal to a broader user base and demonstrate the endless possibilities you have as designers and creators. As our product portfolio and user base grow, we don’t want to pigeonhole our software into any one use case by using overly literal images. However, where appropriate, we will still use industry imagery.
Have additional questions? Let us know! We hope you like the new look!
Not, this morning, only changed over a few minutes ago!
But yes, I like the look. I saw the logo on some blogs a few weeks back and was wondering how long it would take it to arrive here.

The homepage and product pages changed this morning. The Discussion Groups flipped a couple of minutes ago. Check out the main page. I think it looks much better.

Yes, clean & open looking. Nice.
Strange thing is I could have sworn I saw the new logo as the favicon on one of the sites last week or even earlier. Not on the site itself, just the favicon.

Not strange. The new icons/Logo have been out for a few weeks. They just didn't show up here until today. There have been blogs about the new look for a while http://inthefold.typepad.com/in_the_fold/2013/02/not-your-fathers-autodesk.html

Oooh, okay. Normally I don't care much about aethetics, but, I'll admit, the new homepage looks pretty slick.
My husband just made me change my blog template recently because I had the same one for like six years (no comment on how long I'd had the same headshot either lol).
My first crash since rebranding! Well, not actually, but the first one to generate a CER. Glad to see that page has also been updated!
Of course, it was pure altruism on my part to crash the program, I wanted to double-check for Autodesk that they had covered all their bases in this rebranding thing.

😉 Your selfless consideration is humbling and admirable.
The Autodesk subscription page (after logging/going in, not the initial/hello page) is still using the old-school web layout/skin. Hey... i see it because i keep looking in there wondering when the new 2014 stuff will show up for download lol 😄
